    Problem solved.. had the seat to close to the sub and it created a sound simmilar to bottoming out.. Yep.. Im an idiot

    Its actually behind the passenger seat of a Single Cab Pickup. But i have a little better than a 1/2 inch clearance to the back of the box... I did purchase it off ebay open box never used but if it is a fake it is the most convincing fake i have ever saw of anything... Edit: Heres the listing...

    Hello all, I have recently Purchased a new Alpine SWS-12D4 to replace my previous Shallow mount S series. It just seems to make a slapping sound similar to bottoming out across all volume levels gain high or low, I am not running any bass boost in my setup. Im pushing it with an Alpine MRX-M50...

    Thats what i was leaning towards... Considering ALOT of people prefer them over Alpines. Only bad thing i have heard about the polks is crappy crossovers.

    I am in the market for some new speakers and the topic states it entirely... I will be getting 6.5" coaxials for the front and 4x6 coaxials (or the 4x6 plate if i go polk audio). Which of these speakers is the best in terms of sound quality? i have a sub so a ton of bass output isnt a necessity...
