Actually I was thinking of possibly (sometime down the road) installing a 10" sub directly behind the rear seat arm rest. It would also require a shallow mount custom fiberglass box but the woofer itself would be visible with the arm rest down and therefore pushing its sound into the main cabin...

I'll look into that. Sounds like good advice. Perhaps after my system install so I can do a before and after.

After some more research I am going with the Alpine PDXF6 Amp and Infinity Kappa 6929i 6x9 speakers. Everything else is the same except for the wiring kit... went with Knu. Edit: Went back to the RF OFC wiring kit.

It's not that I wouldn't if I could but I can't keep my old rear speakers. I refer you to this link to explain the rear speakers of an IS300. Why the stock rear speakers won't work with an aftermarket headunit.

Keeping the stock 6x9's on an IS300 is not really an option with an aftermarket head unit and amplifier setup. If I decide down the road to add a sub I might but it will be a discussion for another day.

I already decided that I would be using OFC... just a matter of which kit/brand. There are cheaper kits... I'll probably use the KnuKoncepts one but let's move past that. Starting to realize most of this stuff is a matter of opinion besides the fundamental basic science involved. I'm just...

OK, So the RF wiring kit is overkill or just too expensive (reserving my own judgment and considering the KnuKoncepts kit I originally planned on buying). My IS300 brethren are advising me to go with a better amplifier so I'm swapping out the Alpine amp with this... XD400/4 - JL Audio 400W...

Are you trying to tell me the wiring kit I want to order is not good? It seems like it is pretty good quality to me. Is there something wrong with using copper?

I am willing to go up to $1500 but trying to keep it closer to $1000. I don't think I need a sub and like my trunk space. I figure the 6x9's will provide sufficient bass. So far I am just over $1000 with the HU and this shopping list.

So I'm doing my first complete car audio system overhaul on my IS300 and wanted some judgement on my shopping list before I make the purchase. The only item I have already purchased is the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH Head Unit and dash kit. I'm a bit of a noob but have a good head on my shoulders and...
