Hey guys, another update is in store I guess. To this day I'm still impressed with the sound that this "little" sub pumps out. The only thing that I've changed is the internal volume of the box. The 500 watts was just too much for the sub in .8 cubes, so now the box is down to roughly .65 cubes...

Thanks alot guys, it was an awesome choice. And you may have been right about it being a little chilly, because it definitely sounded alot better today... man do those things move...alot. Now i just want to get it behind the seat to get my daily back massage. lol

So tonight I was crazy enough to go outside and put my Christmas presents in my truck. It sounds good but doesn't seem to be as sharp as my other stuff was, I haven't really listened to it much though...just enough to tell I had to turn the gain down due to the infamous light dims and then ran...

Yea, i had the same problem, instead of having the sub in the middle of the front panel it's actually a few inches up from the bottom and the port is a 1/2 inch from the top of the box and it fires toward the center of the truck.

Thought i'd drop in and give everyone an update...I got an SA-8 and a Rockford Fosgate P500-1bd for Christmas. I'm swapping the bench seat in my truck out for a split seat to give me the extra room for the box on the passenger side, I did some digging and eventually decided on .8 cu ft total...

so then the difference is the output of an 8 and an 18 at 35 hz?

My problem is that i have a regular cab truck and i was hoping to keep it as slim as possible without getting a slim sub. I think the boxes i have now have a outside depth of 6 inches. And i was looking at a 12 because i listen to quite a bit or rap and such, and i now that generally the bigger...

So i think i've narrowed it down to two different choices...I'm thinking either an Fi x12 (400w rms) or an aa assassin 12(250w rms) i will probably end up with a sealed box unless i could build a ported box that wouldnt be too much bigger because i have a regular cab truck. This week i'll try...

the alpine is out cuz id like to get an amp with a subsonic filter rather than have to run it through a crossover then into the amp

the RF p500 is 500w at 1 ohm and 400w at 2 ohm while the t500 is 500 and 2 ohm. I figured for that amount of power it wouldn't matter much which amp i bought but wasn't sure. thanks

or should i shell out the money for a rockford amp in anticipation of using it in a different vehicle for a more powerful sub?

thats understandable but what brand would be best do you guys think? i know the rockfords are more and you would think they are better but im kinda new to amps and subs so i dont really know and most people out there give a biased opinion.

Im looking at putting a new 12" 2 ohm kicker cvt in my truck. It's a 400/800w rms/max sub and I'm having a hard time deciding what amp to get. If i got a 500w rms amp id keep it turned down so i wouldn't blow the sub So far i've narrowed it down to a kicker zx400.1 or zx500.1, Precision power...
