I'm confused on amp selections. For example, one of the few recommendations I got was for an Orion XTR2500.1D. This amp does 2500w rms at 1ohm, but 1600w rms at 2ohm. Since my sub is 1800w rms at 2 ohms, wouldn't that amp be under-powering my sub, since it only does 1600w rms at 2 ohms?

How long do amps usually last if you use them properly?

Well Yeah I'd obviously get a battery that works well for my engine. I was just wondering if it mattered audio-wise what your engine battery is.

So as long as your sub has it's own nice battery, it doesn't matter what your engine battery is?

Do you guys think It is necessary for you engine battery to be an expensive battery from a company such as XS Power, if you already have a an expensive audio battery dedicated just for the subwoofer?

I wanna say Nathan is correct though. If you look two of the same xs 12v batteries from the s and d series, they have the exact same capabilities and weights, but when you look at two of the same xs 16v batteries from the s and d series, they have different capabilities and weights. S975 - 12V...

Now I'm confused. On this link, Nathan from XS Power says the 12v d and s series are the same besides terminals, but the 14v or 16v are different, similar to how you described the 12v's. Also, based off of what Natan is saying, should I get the XP series for the trunk...

Thanks for the reply. If I have a 2 ohm sub with 1800rms, shouldn't I have an amp as you described, but rather at 2ohms? I thought it was hard to overpower a sub? Most of my music has hard bass then breaks between, so I think there would be time for the alt to charge the batts back up. Where...
