I've connected a friends iphone to my 9800 and it works for the phone part - i believe we got an error message on the phone when i tried to plug in my ipod adapter to the phone, something about wrong version. I hope this helps.

I have the 9800, it looks excellent at night and as long as the sun it not shining directly on the unit it looks great during the day also. The sound quality is excellent and installation was a breeze. I've never had the other unit so I wouldn't know the plus or minus between the two.

This doesn't really help with your question but what i do, is make playlist of the top artists or albums that i want to listen to so that all i have to do is hit playlist then pick the album because I have the same problem, takes too long to scroll down and then if you make a mistake it starts...

I installed mine down and under the back of the steering wheel - taped it above the gas pedals etc, then i pushed the cable under the seals on the door frame and up to the visor, at 32 vol on the unit it seems to work very well.

What version of windows are you running? I know it doesn't work under Vista.

If you have the v3c you probably can flash back to firmware 2 but if you have the v3m, you can use the monster flash and flash your unit to the alltel firmware which will work on the verizon and give you bluetooth features (not just headset). I'm in the same boat - my unit 9800BT will be here...
