...why are you turning your radio to 60? Are you sure the sub sounded like it was gonna die and it wasn't just what the tone sounds like out of that sub?

If you're reaching the limit of the sub mechanically or thermally it'll sound bad, try turning your gain down a little and try it after that. Is your bass boost turned on/up at all?

The amp should be blocking off any tones above 90hz with the way it's setup, so it's something with your amp crossover if it's still playing 120hz.

What are the subsonic and LP frequencies set to on your amp? If it's playing 120hz and sounding like shit you can just turn the LP filter down.

Splice into the 6x9 wires either at the rear deck or behind the HU. Run the RCAs to the amp and you're set. If the system has a stock amp for the 6x9s splice the LOC into the system before the amp.

Pistons won't always make it so you can run pump/unleaded gas, hardened seals in the heads will. Buy some nice flowing heads, a mild cam, and a good intake/carb combo. Are you looking for straight up horsepower, a street machine, or a little power with economy?
