Actually cone area does make a big differance. It just depends on what the individual wants out of the system. More cone area=higher numbers. It just really depends like I said on what said individual wants. One 12 isn't going to move air or high numbers in a burb. Compaired to one 18 or 4 12"...

More cone area always makes a differance. Then your electrical,amps,box design the music you listen to also make it a factor. It don't matter how loud on the outside. It matters how it sounds on the inside. I can take two cheap Sony explodes and in the right box make them just as loud as kicker...
