? Well I think that has a very large dependence on your definition of performance. I have seen a few done very well, and IMO they don't sound as good as a sealed enclosure in a dynomatted trunk, but come close. They are about equal in SPL from the front seats, maybe a little better, once again...

a bxi1606d on stock wiring. Should be 1600 at 1 ohms...but doesn't feel like it so far (just installed it today).

well i put in my bxi1606d today and it gives a bit more output than the bx1000d but still not as much as i'd like...How is that possible with almost 800watts to each sub? Idk I think i'm going to throw in some polyfil and maybe even try a loading panel because at this point I am getting pissed...

I run two DVC 4 ohm type R's off a hifonics bxi1606d at 1600W at 1 ohm. Subs cost me $168 and amp was only $165, both including shipping off ebay. I think they are great.

Yeah well for now that's what i'll be doing, and hopefully the bxi will help with some extra power, and i guess ill add some polyfil since I built it a tad small for my subs. But it would be nice to get some extra output somehow.
