    help with amp...

It should still work fine with 4 gauge. The problem is something else. Maybe a bad remote signal or bad amp.

    help with amp...

Were the speakers connected when this happened? What ohm are they and were they wired series/parallel? What size is the power cable? What is the voltage at the amp? Sounds defective to me, or maybe a bad connection, low remote wire voltage, low battery voltage.

    Quick run through. (help)

Yes, it's best to do the inside also, both panels if you can. And cover up any holes in the panel the speaker mounts to.

    Quick run through. (help)

Sounds right. Your HU was powering your midbass and tweeters I assume. Do this for each channel (one left, one right): Bridged amp + and - connects to + and - input on the crossover that came with your components. From the crossover there should be 2 sets of + and - outputs, one for the...

If the gf is prego would bass kill baby??

Ask a doctor. This is your son or daughter's health you're talking about! And make sure the Dr. knows how powerful this bass is, that you can really feel it. IMO why risk so much? You wouldn't punch your pregnant gf in the stomach would you? They might not find out for years how dangerous this...

    Question for PC Gamers

Most laptop GPU's are pretty bad for gaming, especially Intel. You need to find a laptop that has one of only a handful of mobile graphic cards from nVidia or ATI. But anyway, installing the latest drivers for the x3100 should give you support for that shader model.

    acceptable voltage drop

Voltage drop is caused by resistance in the wire, which is directly proportional to the length of the entire circuit. So a shorter ground of the same gauge should have less drop assuming the contact point is good. Though sometimes to troubleshoot interference / alt wine issues a longer ground...

    New reg.

When you installed the speakers did you touch the HU at all? Maybe a setting got changed? Bad cd? You can try disconnecting the new speaker but I really don't see how it is causing the problem if the radio still works.

    acceptable voltage drop

I agree, or "10 wire", "10 2" etc. And to the OP, try and ignore the lame comments. Of course some people wouldn't want to ruin a classic car by putting a modern radio up front, especially if it's a show car. Yes this voltage drop is a bit much. The 4 should take car of that for the amp, and...

    Speaker Help

My guess is your clipping the amp. How did you set your gains on the amp? It should be done with a voltmeter and test tone cd. Also how far up is the volume on the headunit when it starts to sound bad? Most headunits start to clip the preout signal at around 3/4 volume. So basically you want...
