The amp stays on, however once the music cuts out you begin to hear a psssssss sound coming from the amp then the music would come back in and the process would repeat.

4 channel amp, I have the sub running on the rear channel by itself, and I have the left side of the car run parallel and the right side run parallel those speakers run on the front channel. Pioneer radio does not shut off or dim out. Ok I will have to check that thanks

Hey guys so I have had my system installed 4 years now. Just recently sound has been cutting in and out at a certain volume. If I have the radio playing above volume 38-40 it starts cutting out where everything goes silent than it comes back on. Higher I go with volume the more persistent the...

No i think my problem was the short in the tweeter. If you wiggled the wire close to the tweeter the sound would come in and out so when i took it out all together thats when i noticed a difference.

Sure enough thats what it was. first thing i did was re-sand the ground then i tried out the system and whine was still there. I took out the driver side speaker and re-wired the speaker to the component box, fresh speaker wire fresh connections and sanded down the connection on the speaker...

Thats what i did i unplugged the front speakers from the amp and the whine as COMPLETELY gone, i had just the rear speakers connected. As soon as i disconnected the rears and connect the fronts then boom whine was back with a vengeance. I will have to re-do the ground then just rewire both front...

I'll start with re-sanding down the ground connection, if it was the rca cables though then the whine would have gone away when i disconnected them from the amp and it didn't.

yea they both do, im having a hard time finding the 7019 or 8019 id get the new ddx712 but its not 16:9 like the older ones are and the older ones have a million more features

do you know off hand if it will play .avi files or .mpg/.mpeg files if there copied as data on a dvd disc?
