my head unit has 5-channel preamp outputs (2 front, 2 rear, 1 sub). the rca cables dont fit into the 1 sub output so he connected the subs to the rear. would connecting them to the rear lower the bass though?

i have 2 12" rockford fosgate punch2 in a box with a 3000w amp. i also have a jensen vm9312 headunit. i took them to a local car audio shop to get them installed but after the guy finished he said he hooked up my subs to the rear speaker outputs because my headunit only had a single subwoofer...
