That amp was never intended for 1 ohm. If your going to stick with that amp get a second alternator rated at 200 amps and a capcell or capacitor after your powermaster.

I'd get the Alpine SPS-600C or the Alpine SPR-17S for a component setup. I hooked up some Alpine Type-S SPS-13C2 to 140-150 watts at full volume, ran them for awhile, then realized I didn't turn the crossover from full to high. Really good speakers. Power Acoustik had some good speakers out...

That's what I would do. Your sub is dieing. Hopefully you have a good amp that can protect itself from a short. Usually the resistance just increase to 30+ ohms. JUST BLOW THAT MOFO!!! lol

If you want to stay with Power Acoustik go with the BAMF2000/1D for a ohm setup or a BAMF4000/1D for 4 ohm. They're good amps. And please start with the gain down and adjust the gain to the frequency. Both sealed and ported work well. I prefer ported. Also add Acousta-Stuf.

The HDC310-A from Audioque should out preform the DC Labs level 4 based on the specs, but both look nice.

Was it used? If yes, they blew that oldie and you'll need a new amp.

If you're trying to get ride of the muffled bass sound, you can't. The surround causes this sound. The Fuber 10W (FX) series is a better sub. A 1.5 cu. ft. ported box with a 3" x 6.5" port. That should make it tuned to 40hz. You could go with a .75 cu. ft. sealed box. Also add some Acusta-Stuf...

Your subs not junk, but JL Audio's don't reproduce bass that well. They're really muffled and those 8 w7's rumble more than punch. Anyways, that amp would be fine. I've ran 1350 RMS to them for about hour and had no problems.
