my sub doesnt do like the youtube vid...its just a very low wind like sound that can you can only audibly hear with the car off. It still does it with the car on but you cant hear it...only feal it in the sub still.

yea im pretty sure its not the ground...even took a dremel with a wire brush and got rid of a 4 in round section of paint to make sure it was def contacting the chasis of the car. Im just as stumpted still

Gain is set just under what JL's recomended wattage is. completly moved the ground and used the JL ground lug as well. Still have the sound

It makes the noise with the rcas unplugged as well. Is it something wrong with the amp?? Anyone...please!!!

Took the polyfill out and it sounds a lot better. Not perfect yet but thats because all of the control knobs on the JL 500/1 are confusing the hell outta me.

Sealed box...1.25 cu feet that should be around 1 cu feet after the sub displacement. These **** JL amps and all their controls are just confusing the hell outta me.

Also what would a recommended Q setting Center Freq setting and boost be?

Im good at installing making crap ect...but I **** when it comes to knowing all about the settings on amps as far as crossovers ect. If I were a JL 500/1 running a 10 inch Kicker L5 What would I want to set the filter frequency at on the crossover. It is being run off of a Kenwood KDC X790...

What kind of sound problems would an oversized box create?

Is a 1.25 cu feet with poly fill going to cause me much problems with the sound of the sub in a sealed box?? Manufacture rec is 1 cu feet max for sealed but the box I bought was 1.25. Also if I need to take the space down should I cut down on the poly fill and add a few pieces of MDF inside...
