There's still some time before my installer is available (In November) but I think you have convinced me to go with the Nakamichi. I may get a AQ1200 to go with this sub in the future.

Hi zako, this is for just one 12" sub and I'm able to give it only 300W @ 4 ohms from the JL 450/4.

What type of port would be good for this Boston Acoustic sub? Aero, Kerf, Slot?

With my JL 450.4@1+2 ch bridged 300W, would DCON 12D or Boston G312 be better? and Would they sound better (50/50 SQ/SPL) if they were in a ported enclosure? I would sacrifice another cubic ft for better sound.

I guess 300W is too little for any of the favorites here (Obsidian, Sundown, D-Con, etc....)? With a $400 budget, is there a 12" + Amp combo that is a feasible step up from my current amp and whatever 12" setup?
