I bet you'd get a lot more SPL from 10 of these than you would from a single $160 10" sub. lol it's sad how expensive most subs are. All of them should be this cheap (at least the ones mass produced on assembly lines anyways...)

But it does affect efficiency, correct? By that I mean lower impedence has more efficiency, and higher impedence has less efficiency.

I put thermal compound inside my amp (where it mounts to the heatsink) after I repaired it. Although it never seemed to get hot anyways. I think it has something to do with the fact that it is digital amp.

gotcha So what's the big deal about clipped and/or distorted signal if it isn't gonna hurt the sub? Is all that it affects is sound quality or does it actually make it easier to destroy the sub as well?

When installing the amp you should always be careful with hot wires from the battery. Preferrably disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before doing any major work. Also another reason amps might blow is because of speaker wires shorting out, or speakers having too low of an...

Thanks DK, but I wasn't referring to RMS (continuous) wattage. I was referring to minimum wattage. Apparently minimum wattage is "the absolute bare minimum wattage required to get acceptable sound from the subwoofer". I was always told that too low wattage could damage the speaker as well...

Then whats the purpose of minimum wattage rating on a sub? I'm not saying you're wrong, just asking.. Thanks.
