If i tried and built a box to the right dimentions and made it out of fiberglass how would it sound?

Ok so if i build a chamer 12 x 12 x 12 = 1 cubic ft of volume. but what about when i insert the speaker doens't that change the speaker volume?

2000 BMW 323CI Install i like that install and everything that only thing i don't agree with is haveing your cd changer infront of the speakers, for the simple fact is if it hits hard and constantly it would damage the cd changer, am i right on wrong other than that it is a great install
