I've done something similar in an 02 silverado on 4 American Bass XD65s...the box was a transmission line. Subs by seats, ports in rear on each side. Box was divided. GAWSH it sounded so sweet! All 4 were on a DB Drive A7 2500.1 and my doors were on an A7 125.4. I wish I hadnt traded that box away.

Did the box fix it?

Thats most likely the remote turn-on wire. It was on the radio fuse, or something that turns on with the Key. Was any fuse sticking out a little further than the rest? IF so, that was most likely what it was connected to. Whats with the blade connector at the top of the pic?

That sucks it didnt work for you. I helped with a similar setup back in 2010. He used 3 JBL GTO 15s. Those boogers had like a 5" mounting depth, the mag was inside the basket. Sounded pretty good. He built the box, and covered it. I just helped lift it into the truck.
