    I have the 9887 and running my front stage actively using the 7 band graphic EQ. If you think you might go active in the near future for better SQ, def get the 9887.

    Passive xovers could do that, after I went active, I could go bring the volume much louder without any distortion at all.

    I'd say that's a good idea. As soon as you see that money transfer it and close that account, then send the sub.

    Clean before deaden?

    Use Denatured Alcohol as it wont damage any paint if you happen to be a little sloppy. It cleans metal real well and its cheap. I removed the tar in my car, but it was a pain in the a** and honestly wasn't required. If you are interested in my deadener build log, PM me.
