It is only rated down to 2, so that probably wouldn't be a good idea. It is digitally regulated though, so you will get the full 1000 W at 3 ohms....any other load b/t 2 & 4 ohms it puts out 1000 W.

An Alpine PDX-1.1000 might be a good choice. The are supposed to be very efficient. I did a lot of research and everyone who has one of the PDX amps seems to really like it. UPS just brough mine today, so I havent had a chance to try it yet.

What is so special about the iPod control on the IDA-X001, other than the display...vs something like the forthcoming 9887? The Pioneer DEH-P880PRS also looks interesting to me. How does the iPod integration on it compare with the Alpine's? I'm interested in sound quality, but dont care to...
