Ok, so they are not loud subs. But what effect would the 8 ohm impedance have? Would I need a very powerful amp?

I found a craigslist ad for two Jl 12Wv2-8 subs w/o box for a Benjamin. I sent the guy an email saying I'd take it, then I thought, what would the 8ohm rating affect? So I came here. What would two of these powered to say 250ish out of their reccomended 300W RMs? More sq or SPL? Im more looking...

I found a local guy selling a rockford 325w amp for $45. The amp is supposed to be working, but the guy has already sold his subs, so how do I test the amp? I think it is still hooked up in his car. Could I use a voltmeter? How would I do so? Thank you for helping a noob.
