Someone is confusing wallet size with SPL... a row (wall) of about 16, dual Isobaric horn loaded enclosures.. (think old school "wicked one" turned sideways) tuned to the best resonant frequency of the drivers.. (probably 78 hz.. give or take) [completely made up] find a vehicle...

and turning down your gain never hurts.. disable any "bass boost" etc on your headunit.. make sure you have a subsonic filter if your box is ported.. and have it set appropriately.

Something that does 500-600w RMS at 2 ohms.. Will the sub be in a sealed or ported enclosure? What kind of car? Do you have any other amps or anything? That is a good sub, btw.. I have always wanted an IDQ, I may get one some day, but I need to at least get my amps installed and basics...

Have you figured this out? I am pretty sure the Stock BMW Business CD player is amped. They use the exact same Headunit for all E46s. Most do not have the Harman Kardon amp. I have a $4 LOC and a PPI PC2100 amp (1997 ish) that accepts "Balanced Differential Inputs". I will try both...

You are going to have to find a good deal on an old school used amp.. Unfortunately no one can really just make a list of what is good and what is not because almost every company that made good old school amps, also has some newer Chinese crap with their names on it. And old MTX or Rockford...

What are the specs on these? 8w x 4, with 60 amps of fuses? Are they meant to be run at .5 ohm or something?

I noticed a few decent looking Diamond amps out there for $100-$150. What's the deal with them? I don't see a "Powered my Maxxsonics" logo on them. They looked legit, and this confirms it..
