    Build list

You've also got to account for the space needed for a battery bank and your amplifier. You're going to want a pretty beefy lithium bank for a salt 8k and the amp itself is fairly large. 2 of those 18s will need about 14 cubic feet of volume. And that's internal volume, after displacement of...

    Build list

How much space do you have? A box for two 18s would be huge unless you're still thinking of doing a sealed box for the 18s in which case I would not use those subs for a sealed setup. Theyre designed for high spl in a ported enclosure. You'll also need some hefty electrical to run a salt 8.

    What size amp?

So that would give you 1156 at a perfect 1 ohm load. When the subs start playing your impedance will go up, people call this impedance rise, or "box rise". So what that means is your subs are actually getting much less power than what you measure at the speaker terminals with a dmm. The good...

    What size amp?

Did you use a clamp meter to measure the actual power to come up with that 1150 number? Also, if youre not even listening at max volume why do you need a bigger amp?

    Fosgate t1500-1bd / Sundown X15 v.2

That amp will definitely get the sub moving but to get the most out of it you should be using something closer to 3k to compensate for impedance rise. As far as box size goes I would stick close to what sundown recommends. 4 cubes for a 15 is relatively normal.

    Less bass

You definitely need to re-tune the amp after changing the source (headunit). If the headunit in the new vehicle is putting out a lower RCA voltage than in the previous vehicle, the output from the amp will be lower as well. Is it an aftermarket headunit or are you using a LOC with a stock...

FEATURED Two 15"s in a Nissan 350z [WIP]

Man that looks sick! The 350 Z is one of my favorite cars. I'm impressed you fit two 15s in there. I bet it sounds amazing

    FEATURED Hooptie Scion TC build

Have you tested with the hatch open to see if it's louder? could be getting cancellation since it's not walled off.

    4 15s gen 4 tahoe

it would give him the ability to run more power in the future.

    4 15s gen 4 tahoe

You could run LTO cells instead of headway to save some room. I would think 4 15s should fit easy in a tahoe. Whats your current box specs?

    Rear speakrs sounding muffled

A lot of people ditch the rear stage altogether. Unless there's a specific reason you want sound coming from the rear of the vehicle, you usually get the best sound with just a front stage. I've got the fade on my headunit set so all my sound goes to the front so the rear speakers dont even...

    What would you choose?

I play mostly rebassed music which is basically made using steady tones. at least some of the songs are lol And especially doing a demo build im gonna be playing music with pretty much constant bass. Last time I competed with my current build I was clamping pretty much the same power with both...

    What would you choose?

watching a dyno video right now and these are impressive amps. I would think the 4500 might be more along what I would want tho. Especially at the price it's at right now, seems like a very good deal.

    What would you choose?

I probably wouldnt go with a smart 8 on each sub. I know theyre rated 2500, even if thats a conservative rating i dont think Id need 8k clamped per sub. I would like to be in the 3-4k range clamped power per sub when its all said and done. So I'm thinking if I run 1 amp per sub at .5 ohm then Im...

    What would you choose?

I plan on charging around 15 volts running plannano LTO cells. With that said, amps that are rated in the 13s vs rated in the 14s will make more power at higher voltages. For example an amp that can do 1000 watts at 13 volts will do more power than an amp that can do 1000 watts at 14 volts if...
