Actually I know you can't because I just tried. It will not let you buy gift card with your balance, they ask you to either pay via credit card or pay pal.

I am pretty sure you cannot buy gift cards with them.

Well the only way I can figure to sell the account is remove my debit card attached to the account then give the buyer the email and password to the account and let them change everything to theirs.

100% legit, Just cannot buy a PS3 with iTunes credit obviously, would rather have a PS3 than burn the credit on renting movies on iTunes.

Hmm lets see I did not pour anything into the account as everything was a gift and being in school $$$ has a little more value to me than itunes credit.
