alllllll sorted, bought a box made by alpine, apparently designed for the type r and it sounds incredible. even just the 1 sub with 300 RMS makes people in the back feel sick. Thanks for your help guys rick

im thinking the box is the problem, its not even a box to be honest, its like only got 2 sides, but it sealed by the floor of the trunk and the back seats. dont know how big it is but its not huge, not tuned. Is the amp a real problem? do i need something much more powerful? it says its 300RMS.

just got my 12" type r wired up to an MRP345 amp, with type r 6x9s wired up to channels 1 and 2 and the sub from 3 and 4 bridged. Had it in for a day now and it hits like consise bass really well, properly smacks you in the back, but just doesnt have that bassy rumble for songs like hip-hop by...

I've got a 2005 12 inch type-R which im running with an alpine mrp-345 amp. I wanted the whole thing to look custom to my car but didnt really fancy getting into fibre glass. When i started making it I hadnt really thought that the shape and dimensions of the box mattered that much to the sound...

ive got the type-r 6x9s fitted in an accoustic parcel shelf and they sound amazing, a few mates went for JBLs, hear mine and were shocked how good they sounded. Theres virtually no distortion at high volumes and they do go very loud. Look pretty sweet aswel.

Thats what the back of my stock head unit looks like, and im not too sure where to wire the signal lead for the amp into? i heard someone say into a blue lead but im not sure which blue 1. Cheers Rick
