I think you've already made a wise decision.

A few of many available options: Wesleys Bleach White. This usually works the best and is cheap/widely available. You can also use AJAX, COMET or any other kitchen powder based bleach cleaner. Clorox Cleanup spay with bleach works really well too. BTW try to use a brush and not a rag.

A Cadillac alloy wheel doesn't have anywhere near as much detail to it as a wire wheel would. There's a lot of flat surface area on the alloy allowing easy cleaning. If you're having a hard time keeping those clean.. than wire wheels are DEFINITELY not for you.

I'd look into Cadillac premium alloy rims and vouge tires with your car. FWD uni-body cars never do look right with wire wheels if you ask me. If you had a Fleetwood on the other hand.. that'd be a different story.
