    HDC3 suprises me...

    HDC3 suprises me...

One of the few things I didn't like was the packaging or lack thereof. This sub weighs 50+ pounds, u just cant stick it in a box with some cheap styrofoam, the styrofoam was destroyed when I open the box. I also didnt recieve a manual.

    HDC3 suprises me...

I have the gain set pretty low because im still breaking it in, I havent even cranked it yet, and its still wangin. Plus I have it in a crappy box, orignal design had it tuned at 36hz, but cuts were way off so I had to improvise(wood fill anybody lol)

    HDC3 suprises me...

Well I just put 1 18" HDC3 in 6.75 cubes tuned to 33hz in my suv powered by a ap3k. I never had a quality or 18" sub before. My previous setup was 2 15" hifonics brutus on the same power. I was a little relutunct to get the 18 because of the lost of cone area, but to my suprise the HDC3 is just...

Its all good, improvising is the name of the game

    Lowes...

yep, you live and learn, I'm going to make it work without spending more money, as long as the back/front and sides are straight everything else is workable.

    Lowes...

    Lowes...

just re-measured most of the pieces, it seems that most cuts slant to make the piece a half inch to inch larger on the opposite side. Therefor the wood can be salvaged since it slants big instead of small, now finding a way to trim it down to make it the same is another story...

    Lowes...

It wouldn't make sense for me to buy all these tools and build a workshop because I would never use it. This is like my 2nd box I have built in the last 3 yrs. I usually keep my sub(s) for at least a year before I move on to something else.

    Lowes...

To think I was trying to save money by doing the box myself, which I have before with good success. The people around here try and charge at least $250 and up for a 18 box.

    Lowes...

So I get back home from buying some mdf and getting it cut by Lowes. I pre-assemble the box just to make sure most of the pieces line up some what closely. All the peices of wood were slanted a half inch all the way up to a full inch and there were big gaps between everything. I was like WTF...
