$7 a/d/s Crossovers blowout at Electronic Goldmine Parts

What speakers are you using? What's your setup? Thanks.

    Cdt Cl-61a

I forgot to add that I eventually ditched the original tweeters, which I didn't particularly care for. I decided to use some Crystal Mobilesound silk tweeters that I had sitting in a box from a past install. With the CL-6a mids, Crystal tweeters, and 560 x-overs...it was a quite an improvement.

    Is this worth it?

I was in a similar situation. I had a 4-door Escort, so that is close in size to your Civic. I messed around with all sorts of things for the rear deck, determined to make it work. I finally ended up with some CDT 6.5" coaxials up front getting 85 watts each. I then had a single ported 8"...

    Blaupunkt Velocity Series Speakers?

Any other details you could share? Bass, midrange, etc? Are you running a sub or just the speakers? I assume these are coaxials, correct? Thanks.

    Cdt Cl-61a

djdilliodon beat me to it. I have the CDT CL-61a's and used to have power handling problems. I upgraded to the Sat-560 about 3 years ago when CDT was running a $60 promo. Not only did it improve the overall sq of the speakers, but it improved power handling. I've been able to run a DEI Viper...

How Long Do HU's last on average?

Kenwood Excelon x-659. Getting close to 3 years - deck and remote still working great. Deck looks almost new because I always use the remote and seldom touch the deck. Kenwood DPX-440 double-din. Was top of the line in its day. Over 6 years old. Used as part on a carputer system. Some...

Raised my gain a lil and dam

This is basically how I set my gains. Sometimes I'll use a test tone cd. Here's another thought to add. Since you say that your amp doesn't have gain markings and that you don't know much about setting gains, it's possible that where your amps previous settings were may have been equal to...

Crystal Cpe 643 3-Way component set

Just to give you another bump.... I've not heard the CPE 3-ways. I heard good reviews about them, though. But that was years ago. I used to run they CPE 2-ways and the were good. But I later went with the CSC 2-ways and they are better. Check around and see if you can also find some...

Comps & Coaxials, Or 2 Comps?

Perhaps another option? How about some really, really good components in front and just good coaxials in the rear (instead of higher-end). Both CDT and Crystal make some good coaxials that are relatively inexpensive.

Scosche Wiring kit from wal mart?

I believe I purchased 6 of those kits. 4 for myself and 2 for other people. None of them have given any problems.

    US Acoustics

Good. Just start from square one and go through the basic procedures for gain setting. Starting by setting the fader to 0. At least it will eliminate a couple of things.

    US Acoustics

What are your gains set at? (I didn't see it posted.) I've had the older USX Usacoustics amps and they were fine once the gains were set properly. But that's true of many amps. Also, I don't know if the USC (newest) versions are having problems or not. But the older ones worked well for me.
