    My install's coming along nicely

If your head-unit for some reason isn't powering the DSP on and off with it's remote wire, you can have the DSP turned on and off via the ignition switch which is the red wire going into the head-unit. This isn't recommended, because your head-unit may be powered off while your DSP is on or...

    My install's coming along nicely

First of all ... to respond to the second half of your post, I went through the first 2 or 3 dozen posts and couldn't read anymore. I see what you mean about this John guy, but the reason why I NEVER go on this forum is because most of the time, everyone is only trying to bash on anybody. I'm...

You just reminded me that I could go out to the diner and read all of this while I wait for my food.

    My install's coming along nicely

It's looking good, but it's been almost 2 months. There's too much for me to read from beginning to end, but at least you're making progress. Judging from the first page, I'm sure most of the posts are random "experts" giving their 2 cents. I wish I could get an audiophile sound processor. It...

I'm putting together a complete system.

Wow ... JBL MS-A5001? From what I googled, that looks really fancy, but do you guys think 500 watts will be enough for him?

So whats so bad about capacitors anyway?

If only I had seen this post when I had a 4 channel amp for my highs ... It was a Cerwin Vega, and it produce alternator whine in every single car I put it in. Eventually, it decided not to power on, so I junked it and just ran off my head unit. I wish Alpine made stronger built-in amps ...

How to cover holes in your doors?

I'm assuming certain types of silicon sealant are still malleable even after it has set. For example the factory supplied plastic sheet is adhered with a silicon substance, right? Worse comes to worse, silicon can be cut with a sharp razor blade or knife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    RCA configuration

hmmm ... it looks like ... if you want to use the single set RCA to run all 5 channels, you'll need to buy the optional DEQ-P8000 which in turn takes your subwoofer/non-fading output and outputs 50watts X 5 channels. which includes 3 sets of pre-outs as well, but in this case at 5volts. LOL...

HA! See?! VINYL! LOL! He also used compressed ceiling tiles? $6 for a 2x4 feet tile?

How to cover holes in your doors?

Ever considered using something like vinyl? The same stuff they make banners and signs out of. They come in roll with adhesive. Just cut to shape? or ... maybe use the fabric for a subwoofer box with some silicon or other adhesive? Might be difficult to get to set though ...

    RCA configuration

Honestly, having to run just your fronts through this particular amp may be quite confusing as the amp doesn't have any parallel outputs. This amp is designed to run only inputs. I guess you could split the left and right into 4 to get into the amp, but your math seems to be sound. I'm not sure...

So whats so bad about capacitors anyway?

Sorry ... I'm somewhat of a n00b when it comes to capacitors, but what you're describing sounds like something I'm interested in. What is this "After big 3" which got you up to 14.4?! That's amazing! I'm currently running a Kinetik HC2000, but my amp (DB drive A72500.1)...

I see where you're coming from, and I agree with you. You're right. Going to the flea market requires quite a bit more experience to shop for the right products, but I'll have to RESPECTFULLY argue that I've been messing with mobile audio for roughly 15 years and as an Audio...
