    perfects drowned out by idMAX

really you don't want both crossovers set at 80hz, you will end up with a big bump in your frequency response curve around 80hz. Have a read on crossover slopes and it will click in your mind why this is so. It is one very overlooked aspect for most people, but can make a huge difference.

So.... just turn up the volume and don't turn up the sub level. Is there a reason the sub level needs to be at +1538949?? No. If you have reached max output on your pioneer and its not loud enough then look at your install for problems. Seal the doors with a good sound deadening material...

OK List em! Skinny & Thin Amps

Surprised nobody has mentioned the last two years of Memphis amps yet. The new ones look almost as bad as current HU's though.

    soldering rca's

Yeah, what Jack Frost said. rs 2332 and 484 and 533 are all different serial interfaces. They are implemented on high end home audio and home automation products. It would be the equivalent of Unilink (actually Unilink is based on a 232 serial interface) for Sony and Alpine changers.... that...

Best/easiest way to do the following:

I have heard of a few trucks from around the 50's or 60's where the chassis was energized with 12v and ground was carried through the wiring. So I guess anything is possible.

    soldering rca's

A little bit of information I learned wiring countless racks at work for home automation and crazy dedicated theaters. I can make a pair custom length for ya for pretty cheap, let me know if you're interested. I even had a crestron touch panel running the system in my car for awhile. More...

and I suppose you're running a 400v plate voltage to the cathodes in your amps front end just to sweet up the sound? Adding a high B+ will really clear up the sound too

Best/easiest way to do the following:

So... did you get it working? If not try this: Terminal 85 = Ground Terminal 86 = Remote trigger from HU Terminal 30 = Ground Terminal 87 = The ground connections to the light and DVM, but not for the amps. Terminal 87a = No Connection This will cut the ground when the remote trigger is...

Adding Aux input to a Ford Ranger without spending $60

Anyone? How about a hidden website like the one for Unilink, but for Ford??

Best/easiest way to do the following:

So... grounding everything normally and then putting a relay inline with the positive 12v for all the devices doesn't work? To do it properly you need to have a constant 12v wire (preferable coming off the battery through a fuse) and a 12v remote wire coming from your HU. Terminal 85 = Ground...

    soldering rca's

Belden 1505A cable and F-Conn FS59RCAU compression fittings. Best RCA cables I have ever used, except for being a touch bulky and a little stiff. Performance is far better than anything I have used and, unlike solder-on ends, it maintains a 75ohm capacitance (that means no signal reflection )

    ipod in-car

Select the correct source on the Pio HU... it will either be CD Changer or Aux-In, I forget which, just toggle through the sources until you hear your mp3 playing.

Hooking amp/sub up to stock system

I have to second the LC6 from audiocontrol, AC has made outstanding products for a long long time. Plus its just over $130 so its not too expensive. I can maybe get it for less if you are really interested PM me

    Custom Dash Kits...what to do??????

If I remember correctly (and its been QUITE awhile since I have been in this field) there is a Toyota 4-runner kit that will fit with a little modification. I have done a few Land Rovers this way (a few different years) and all you really need to modify is how the kit mounts to the car. You...

    soldering iron

I can wholly recommend this butane soldering iron for soldering anything thinner than 10 guage connections. http://www.action-electronics.com/weller.htm#Butane its all the way at the bottom of the page is self-igniting and is really small for how hot it is and how fast it heats up. Also its...
