i looked up the soundqubed q1-750 amp and that is more in the line of what i'm looking for (price and power) how would the soundqubed amp compare to the alpine mrv-m500? i wouldn't mind spending another $60 on the soundqubed if it is a better quality amp

My son is still in high school so he doesn't have a very big budget, $150-$200 on amp I could help him out some to get a good quality amp. I've always been a fan of Alpine and Fosgate amps but don't know anything about the new stuff out there. I'm not sure that he would want to buy a used amp...
