Well, I've sort of solved the problem using a speaker level to line level converter.
I'm now using the speaker outputs from the deck instead of the RCA's. The popping noise is gone (except when I power off)
It does sound noticably worse when playing music, but what can you do....
Ok, I tried
-grounding the RCA's to the head unit....no luck..still the same...
-grounding the head unit to the chassis...no luck..still the same...
any more ideas?
Just installed an Alpine CDA-9885 in a '97 VW Jetta.
The problem is, any time I press a button to change a track or radio station (or anything else), the speakers make a "POP" noise. It also does this when you turn it on or off. Its pretty loud...and annoying.
I think it may have something to...
