already did without sub, and its not blowing the fuses. The protection light is just flashing, and the amp is getting very hot right at where the power plugs in. And on a side, a wierd thing i had happen was, i had an exacto knife lying on a wire so it was balancing on it next to the amp. and it...

i took the power and negative straight from the amp powering the speakers and used it to power the amp to see if it was a wiring issue. The amp still went into protect. And then i switch that same power and negative to the speaker amp and the speaker amp worked fine.

anyone have any ideas?
