    Something a little different

RESULTS!! I found a 5W solar charger for $60 and had to have it just because of how cool that is. Went camping this weekend and this thing blasted for 2 days, the music definitely drew the crowd in on the beach. No blown speakers, nothing melted, the battery managed to stay charged so I'm...

    Something a little different

Sony XS-MP1610W, is that what you're looking for? the head unit is Kenwood KMR-330 wonder compatible with the 5.5s, could be why its getting hot This sounds expensive but perfect for this project. gonna look into it. it'd be really cool to be able to mount the panel on top of the cooler all...

    Something a little different

It ran for four hours last night before i decided to turn it off. The only thing that got hot was the head unit. I'm guessing thats normal though, because part that was hot looks like a heat sink of some sort. It wasn't hot enough to burn skin or melt plastic but it was uncomfortably hot...

Thanks for the help so far. Its been going an hour strong, nothing feels overheated yet. Now for Box discussion, should i put some type of snorkel/vent on top to let hot air out? maybe kind of a ported box How do you guys think having the sub and the other speakers in the same sealed box will...

    Something a little different

I think thats it. I've got loose wires on the HU still -TEL mute(brown) -Motor antenna control (blue) -Remo Cont (light blue) not in the manual what should each of these go to? manual says to connect motor antenna control(blue) to "the power terminal for the booster amplifier of the film...

    Something a little different

Powered it up, the subs not working the light on the amp is on. The only wires connected to the sub are coming from the amp, is this right? RCA between head unit and amp. The 5.5s are one front left, one front right. There are extra wires on the back of the head unit for back left and back...

    Something a little different

The harness coming out of the amp for the power is 16 gauge. kinda confused what difference it makes coming from the battery. Negatives are all hooked up, just checking over everything and gonna hook the positives up in minute. if that works and the sub doesn't kill the battery then its...

what fun would that be though? any word on the blue and white wire, says something about power control, anyone know what its for? connect the one on the head unit to the one on the amp right?

    Something a little different

hmm, i've got two 16 gauge coming out of the amp for both + and - , so im guessing i can just connect both of those to the battery and it'd be essentially the same as 8 gauge. trying to use the limited supplies I have here
