Eclipse is better. I have heard that you can't even use the nav on the pioneer once you are moving.

I have the 8445 also and it does sound good, but in the sunlight you can't see it. I have done some research and spoke to mult dealers, and they say that it is one of the best sq decks. I wish that their touch screen units sounded as good and were less $.

AVN 5500 does not have the good ipod interface that the 6600 has.

I would go with the eclipse 6600(if you want to use an ipod) or 5500. The sound is superior. You don't believe me? Call or go into a high end store that carries both and ask them which they like best. I have done this at 6 different stores and they ALL said eclipse. Only a guy at best buy...

I have the unit also and the head unit display is not visable during the day. I have a convertible. I wonder If the wiring is correct. Why not leave the orange/white disconnected? It would be at full brightness all the time.

If you have the $ get the 5000. I have the 8445 which was replaced by the 5000. It is a great sounding piece.

Did you get the ipod working yet? I bought the tomtom 910 to interface the ipod to my 8445 but don't want to open it if I am gonna end up with the 6600.

I am sorry, I missed that you got it going again. Are you gonna hook it to an Ipod? If so could you give some feedback or maybe pics? So do you anticipate being happy with the unit? What did you have before and how does it compare SQ wise? Thanks, Neil

I agree. Eclipse said that the avn are not as good sounding as the single din units. Infact the cd 7000 does not sound as good as the 5000, according to them. I believe it. They put the money in the screen and nav.

Where did you buy the unit? This is a scary story. If you had bought it off an internet guy you would be in more trouble than you are now. At least you can call and go to the installer on Mon. I was thinking of buying one on the internet but reading this gives me pause.

Fuse, amps... I don't know. Wow that sucks. Call the installer asap!
