I wouldn't spend any more than $1500 on a notebook. Check out Dell's 14" and 15" models. Those are good bang-for-buck notebooks. Spend the rest on something that won't become obsolete as quickly.

If you have a player that can play vob files (PowerDVD ect...) then just change the extension from .rar to .vob Of course you will only be able to watch the first half of the movie though.
