Yes, it is much cheaper to do it yourself. Go to a fabric store and get some headliner material (you can recognize it by its foam backing approx. 1/4 inch thick). I am trying to recover my camaro's headliner. I can't get it to stay glued in the wells over the seats. I think the fabric is being pulled too tight. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or experience with this kind of thing. I have only ever done flat headliners before.

How about making a box with some sort of a grill in front? You could have a wooden front with holes cut in it, like the grills on the new dodge rams have, to let the sound come through. Or you could use some other design for the front. Plus, having the cover would help to protect the speakers.
