the 9886 you have to get the external module because there is no "hard drive" to save the info. but the 9887 has a "hard drive" so all you have to do is "download" the tuning stuff to your head unit. i know, i have seen it done. sinister has a 9887, shop did it in an hour... no argument here...

funny story... you want the imprint right??? lol did you know that with the 9887 you dont have to buy the 250 dollar imprint unit? the shop can just download the setting into the 9887. takes like 1 hour of shop time. then it's good. i would hands down go for the 87.
