and some examples are...???? i looked in to Fi, and you would need one hell of an amp to power those *****es. i am lookin at an amp for around 300-400$ and a sub for around 200-250$

wait, i know what amp you mean now. that was being sold at canadian tire years ago. i dont think that would be very good for runing a couple of subs dude. try to get a nicer 2 channel, or even better a mono class d, with a half descent 10. With a better amp, you will always have "room to grow"

4 channel amp?? or is it a two channel that you can bridge??? if you can bridge it, get one descnt 10 that will have more power running to it, rather then 2 10's with no power running to them.

false??? everything that i have read says that a sealed box, with 10" subwoofers, will lead to a more clear and precise sound. ported makes a subwoofer much louder, but much harder to tune for a specific type of music (such as metal)

There are so many different manufac. out there. Why is it that none of you guys either like, or refer to some of the more "mainstream" ones. Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio, MTX, Alpine, Cerwin Vega, Orion...... I dont know if i am retarted, but alot of these manufactures seem to make some quality...

ha ha ha. everyone says that. My first system was 2 old sony 12's with a 720 jensen amp, and a legacy crossover. yes, i know, it is a crap set-up, but it didnt sound "that" bad, and it lasted me four years (untill i sold em)

is there anything really wrong with mtx?? i have 2 mtx 4500 10"s with a rockford 300.1 mono amp. and they sound pretty good. they blew my friends old rockford 15's out of the water. and are just as loud as the old cerwin vegas heds (2 12"s)

what did you guys think about the mtx setup?

i have always loved the sound of 10"s compared to 12"s. They sound like they have more punch and kick. from what i have herd, 12s don't sound as good as 10's for metal. he wants to use the same box that he has the sony in right now as long as he can. I think an l5 or l7 would be a bit out of the...
