WOOFER PLACEMENT IN 3 WAY SYSTEM

If you are looking for stage, completely ditch the speakers right by your head. As others have mentioned, get the biggest midbass you can fit in the door and I would fit a larger format tweeter. Stage a lot of time is helped the lower the tweeter can play and meet up with the midbass. Use your...

Why not component in the rear?

run them if you like. I have never run rear fill except one time but dont hate on it and have sat in many a car or truck with it and. The time I had it was a set of full range on a rear deck with a bandpass crossover so it didnt get up into the high range.

    9518 SC 4th Order Bandpass

is this a ported enclosure or a 4th order? If 4th and tuned to 33hz, unless specifically designed to do that, it wont have any bandwidth. It might only play 40 down if that. Years back I knew a guy that had a big 4th order tuned that way, but he 4 8" playing 50 to 100. The bandpass was tuned to...

    Dsp, a must have?

Do you have to have dsp, no. Once you get one will it make a huge improvement, yes. Unless someone completely screwed the tune and didn’t know what they were doing, can’t see how you wouldn’t have a sound improvement even on a very good non dsp system. I got into dsp by buying a used unit cheap...

Buck Box Designs - Refreshed Thread

you should be able to half the cross section needed by a single driver in the same line. The line length would remain the same, but my understanding is that you should be able to cut down some of the port area. Some of the home audio guys also say iso loading eliminates distortion. Now is that...

Buck Box Designs - Refreshed Thread

I got a design from him back in the day. Always seemed solid even though I sometimes had not idea what he was telling me. I kicked around a isobaric T line for some 8's. The biggest thing as he points out in this being able to cut down on some of the line area which would help me with size in a...
