    Adding Tweeter - Xover Question

Ok so If the speakers impedance drops to 2ohm - then doesn't that mean that I have to calculate the cap for a 2ohm load? Which would make my 4ohm load calculation wrong?

    Adding Tweeter - Xover Question

I am adding a tweeter to by boss stereo to give it some top-end sound. The factory "tweeter" has a 22ufd cap on it giving it a highpass xover of 1800hz. I am looking for a xover of around 3800hz for the Aura Tweeter I'm installing. I calculated a cap of 10ufd to do the job Question: I will be...

    Eclipse cd-8445 issue

What level is your subwoofer set to on the deck? Are you in Standard or Pro mode on the deck? The last thing to check would be the gains on your amp. When I went to my eclipse deck, I turned my gains completely down on my amps, but depending on what you are running, you may want to re-adjust...

    A/D/S 345is

I am looking at getting a nice set of 6.5" components. What kind of deals are you able to get? I would like to spend between 250-400US. I am looking for a clean, smooth sound. Does CDT have something comparable to the A/D/S 346cs?

    Sold Need nice 6.5" components

Hey all, I am looking for a nice set of 6.5" component speakers. Something along the lines of A/D/S 236is or 346is. Anyone have anything available?

What would I have to do???

Well its going to cost somebody something if its going to be an audio show. If you want to organize it, but can't afford to run it - I suggest you find some sponsors or start fund raising.

    tweeter placement

Bad idea. They would be way to "in-you-face". Also, as a rule of thumb, you want your tweeter as close to your woofer as possible; and on the same axis. Also, if you put both tweeters on opposite sides of your steering wheel (if i understand correcty), you will have bad imaging.

    "no clipping h/u"??

correct, their decks are non-clipping. The voltage and resistance on the RCA lines is a important factor for no clipping deck. Eclipse's 5/ 8 volt / 50ohm decks are the ticket.

Please opine on my planned system

yikes, so I did! You can get the same response from properly designed 12, 15 or 18 - but not quite the same tightness a 10" delivers.

If you have a fosgate 1001bd, then yes, you can run 1 amp to both subs, 1000 watt rms @ 2ohm load - depending on how you wire it. You will then be taking full advantage of the amp's power.

Please opine on my planned system

I think 2 10" instead of a 12" would be a better choice for the type of music you are listening to. You would benifit from the faster more accurate (tighter) base a 10" would give you for electronica music.

I am running 2 10" Eclipse subs in a custom box powered by a RF 1001bd - and it sounds beautiful! Highly recommended subwoofer choice.

    freq's

Just to clerify though, your crossover slope will increase the cut-off rate. Isn't a 24db slope pretty much a dead stop at the desired frequency?

    stealth system??

If you can find a good installer, you may be able to mount the hu in a remote location, (glove box, side of drivers/passanger seat etc..), then they can mound the face plate somewhere not easily noticed but still very accessable to you - I have seen this done before, and it works well if done...
