    ap enclosure

here's another link that may help. http://www.audiogearreviews.com/tech/theory/enclosure_design/aperiodic_membrane.asp

    Just double checking

if you do not have dimension yet, you subtract from the length you calculate. if you have set dimensions like the one above, you add because the wall will increase effective port length.

    Just double checking

add the end correction of the port (half the width) to the length.

The Return of the TL...part deux

if you want a low freq monster, design a box with fb=f3=fs and put a slant baffle so that the 1/4 wave line length is = to fb/f3/fs. now with the slant baffle, make sure that if you model the volume before the slant as the vb and slant corner as the port area with entrailing port length...

    Porting kicks???

it'll reduce the maximum impedance at the box resonance, kinda like the scan speak aperiodic vents. that being a "positive" depends on your application and design goals.

    Porting kicks???

when you put a hole in an enclosure, it becomes a port. in this case a high tuned port, that is resistively dampened into the carpet. adding polyfill in a sealed enclosure just lowers qtc, as in simulating the effect of a larger enclosure.

The Return of the TL...part deux

i'll see what i can do, but with this kind of enclosure...there is some phasing issues that i cannot take into account with the programs i have access to. it'll give you a pretty good idea though. a straight baffle, on the other hand, will be possible.

The Return of the TL...part deux

baffles in a slot ported enclosure will act like additional resonant devices depending on there positioning. usually its like a regular box. distance from edge of the baffle to the corner x height is the port area, then measure down the center out towards the exit. this only applies if the...

    Porting kicks???

the way i see it is that its kinda like a resistively dampened enclosure. its worth a try. can always plug it up later if you dont like the results.

ahh i know exactly what your talking about now. no problem. i'll walk you through modeling it.

The Return of the TL...part deux

depending on the physical dimensions of that enclosure, it may not extend low enough for ht applications but will be fine for your musical preferences. if you have the t/s parameters for you driver, bbp6, and the dimension of that enclosure, i can show you how to model it. well thats if the...

    Folded Horn/TL's @ Home

is this a hybrid horn/reflex with a front loaded folded horn with the driver's chamber ported? because if its not, thats not a folded horn. im assuming a SS knockoff. correct me if im wrong. exact physical dimensions of the enclosure would reveal its capabilities.

    Possible boxes??

the corner pieces help in most cases but like i said before, depending on how you position that slant baffle, it will cause that box to either act like a normal port box, dbr, or slide tune enclosure.
  14. M

    Possible boxes??

the slant baffles you have there will act like a valve/port depending on the distance you place it in the corner. not sure what you're trying to do with the pic with the black triangle though.

    2/5/05 - dB Drag & USACi @ Autorama - Sacramento, CA

whole bunch of team bio members were there. they were wearing the yellow and black shirts. the guy in the RE shirt is steve meade. he has 4 mt 18's and 8 bd 1500's. unfortunately he was having equipment problems because his score would of been higher.
