Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

^That would explain why with the subs in the ported box is rated at 20hz as where the sub itself is rated for 26.6hz

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

Correct. Two subs came in a ported box under model number 1234. The sub model inside that pack is submodel ABC. In model ABC spec sheet it says use sealed. Which was my whole point of this thread. I wasn't sure if it was preference, a Fu** up on their part, or if I had to use a certain...

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

All I needed to know if its preference. I know box style is preference for what you are going for, but have been reading that some woofers that for example woofers that are for ported boxes should not be used in sealed because something on them is stiffer and the air resistance of the sealed box...

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

My question originally was simple lol Woofer Spec Sheet recommends sealed box However when I bought them sealed from Manufacture they came in a ported box. Which should I do? Ported or Sealed?

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

I did calculate it out with it, but cannot imagine that I am possibly that far off with this sealed box I have

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

I know you are probably going to mock these... But... I will be honest they sound pretty **** good, my friend who has JLs was even surprised (he gives no bullshit opinions). They do not sound nearly as good as JLs of course but sound good nevertheless. I have two of these PDF Spec Sheet (How I...

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

I am not going to even say the model/brand because I will get flammed. I do have a question though. I looked up the Woofer specs and it states in the manual/fact sheet recommended enclosure: Sealed . However, I bought these pre-assembled by the same manufacture and they put it in a ported box...

Switching Enclosures (Going FROM Ported to Sealed)

Now I may be the only goofy bastard that wants to do this, but I want to move my two 12" subs from a ported box to a sealed box. I did a Google search, but all the results as about going the opposite direction of that which I am wanting to go (results are all sealed to ported) My question is...

    Best Boom out of these

^ I know that they aren't from a frequency standpoint. These go to 46hz where the subs go to 37.5hz. Obviously 37.5hz capable will hit deeper notes, but I thought I'd ask because theoretically the 6x9 should hit everything down to 46hz harder since the RMS rating is higher. Didn't know if that...

    Best Boom out of these

haha I know I won't get a lot of bass, but my two 12" subs won't fit in the trunk anymore because I put a fullsize spare in the trunk. Anyway, I want at least some, and CLEAN bass. Current speakers do it a little but it makes my ears bleed and **** shrivel when I hear bass songs on speakers...

    Best Boom out of these

I need opinions so please say which and why. I have 2 options (both would be connected to an Amp): 1) Run two 8" JL Audio (jl audio 8IB4 - 75w RMS) in sealed box. 2) Run two Infinity 6x9 speakers (100w RMS, 300w Peak) in rear deck. NOW, separate question. If I were to run option 2, could I...

    Safe to do?

Shame on me for not looking when it was installed, but I just noticed that no spacers (risers) were installed so the amp was just sitting on the seats carpet (fans are on hold for now)... Explains the heat, how big (long) of spacers should I create, IOW how high off the carpet should it be?

    Safe to do?

lol from one question to another (sorry), what do I do about the extreme difference in wire gauge with the distro block? ALSO just noticed the picture shows a 12v source going to the amps remote? That doesnt seem right to me.
