My Inexperienced vote: Two 12" W7s, Two JL 1000/1 Mono amps

The setup is over kill for me as it is. I'm sure they could handle more, But i dont need more. lol. I have the bass on the Headunit turned up a higher than normal in the vid. Headunit goes from -6 to +6. it was at +3 for the vid. I usually keep it at 0 or maybe +1. Heres a drawing i did of the box:

off? Settings go from 1 to 18. It was at 8 in that vid. Its at 6 now. You think bass boost all the way down and gain turned up a bit would sound better?

Thanks. yea the guy i bought it off didnt even know it was a ported box. haha you really wouldnt know it just by looking at it. Thats what i like about it. Seems like JL designed this box specifically for W3s too.

Gain is probably at about 1/3 to 1/2. There is a nother knob on the other side of the amp(not pictured) which is another "Q Bass" adjustment. It goes from 1 to 18. i think its at about 8 right now. And with all that, its sounding pretty good. I'm pleased.

Thats it. No more highs out of the subs. Thanks a lot. However, it doesnt sound as good in the car. they've seemed to have lost that "snap". They sound a little sloppy.

So does anyone know for sure which buttons to fool with? Or is my only option looking like a signal processor?

interesting. I've really never known anyhting other than Headunit --> RCAs---> Amp---> Speaker/Subwoofer in an aftermarket setup. Whenever I thought of using factory wiring with new amps and speakers, i always frowned upon it. (even though i did it now). Didnt know things like this...

I cannot install one in my car because there isnt one made for it. My headunit and HVAC controls are all one big unit. A think a compnay was working on one, but it never made it into production. it wouldve cost about $2500 anyway. My amp has a bunch of different buttons to push. Its a little...

So ive just installed a dual 10" JL W3 setup in my car. I had to do it the slightly "ghetto" way, by splicing into rear speaker wires. But this is causing a lot of higher range stuff to come through the Subwoofers. It sounds good inside the car, but pop the trunk and its just a bunch of noise...
