The CVR is fine in the marine environment. I'd like to get the L7 12", but I'm going to give this CVR 12" with 600w a shot first. The 300w I had before just wasn't enough.
I decided to upgrade to a JL M600/1 amp for the CVR 12". I know the sub can handle a little more than rated, but will it be good with 600w RMS from the JL amp?
I finished the box on Saturday. It took a while for the fiberglass resin to dry. I wish I could have made it a little bigger, but I didn't want to take any more storage space on the boat. Here's some pics: http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c333/mfifield/Boat%20subwoofer/?start=0
I'm not opposed to getting another amp, but the alternator on the boat wouldn't handle 3 (51 amp alt.). I'd have to spend a lot of money to upgrade the alternator, new breaker, wiring, special marine built alternator, etc.
Basebalz13 - How much?

No good? It's rated at 400w RMS. On paper it looks like what I want, but I've never heard them or seen any reviews.
I should have said the open air environment with water noise, engine noise, etc, will degrade any SQ. My main goal is to fill the low end spectrum, but I'm not too concerned with SQ.
I'm new here, but I've been around car audio for years.
I'm currently looking for a decent 12" subwoofer for my boat. I keep going around in circles. Since it's an open air environment, I plan to use a ported box and SQ will be out the door. I'd like to get something that will run off my 300w...
