    Sold Kicker ZX650.4 amp,

Selling a Kicker ZX650.4 amp, used about 1 year, new design, not old. Sold the truck it was in, so selling the amp. Was used to power a set of ID CTX650, and a RE RE10. The amp is in good, like new condition, but I don't have the box, or documentation any more. It was certified at 675-ish watts...

Set gains, and Sub is now quiet

Yeah, I really don;t see only 300 watts being detrimental. I might just set it by ear. I can see how when you start pushing huge numbers you would need to do that.

Set gains, and Sub is now quiet

that is really cool. Now to go build said box, if I can find the time. Maybe sunday. I will also re-find my DMM I just bought and check the ohms I am getting. Never thought to do that. Thanks for your help. But also, looking at that designer, its says I'll need a port 1 inch wide. Will that be...

Set gains, and Sub is now quiet

I was going to get a ported box, or make one, but can't find a plan fro a 1 cubic foot ported at 35hz. That would be the maximum efficiency of the sub. And no, didn't change anything on the HU after doing the test tone. But how do I know that the 300 watts i was seeing was at 4ohm, and not, say...

Set gains, and Sub is now quiet

Well, I picked up a Kicker zx650.4 cheap over the weekend, and hooked it up to my ID CTX65cs and a RE SR10d2. The IDs sound wonderful. I am getting a little engine noise, but working on finding that and correcting it. The thing that gets me though, is I set the gains for the sub for a 50hz tone...

    Is 16AWG ok for 300 w RMS?

well, I still got a lot of 16 AWG laying around, but I already rewired the sub today with the 8awg. Oh well. Wasn't too expensive though, so no biggie.

    Is 16AWG ok for 300 w RMS?

well crap, and I went and bought 8 gauge wire today. Well, at least I'm future proofed, right?

    Is 16AWG ok for 300 w RMS?

Cool, thank you for the quick replies. Wouldn't want to hook it all up and be disappointed.

    Is 16AWG ok for 300 w RMS?

I have some left over 16AWG RF wire from running wires for my speakers, and was wondering if this would be OK for running a RE SR 10 at 300W rms? A lot of places online I checked out recommended 8-10 AWG. To me this seems like overkill. Will the 16 be ok, or should I go thicker?

    1 ft^3 tuned at 35 hertz plans?

Would I just move teh sub into a corner, and the port in the other, or put the port on the side. I would think corner/corner on the front? I looked on PE, but couldn't find a 2.5" that went 9.36" long. What to do?

    1 ft^3 tuned at 35 hertz plans?

If its 3/4" MDF, wouldn;t that be 13.5" on all sides due to double 3/4 = 1.5 inches extra? I would do 1.5, but the manual I read says 1 ft^3 max. and thats for maximum efficiency. Where do I get an Aeroport? online?

    1 ft^3 tuned at 35 hertz plans?

In the free box plans, there is a plan for a 1 cubic foot ported box tuned to 35 hertz. When I get my RE SR 10, I would like to build one of these boxes as well as the sealed and see which I like better. Only problem being that the plan in the sticky is not there. Does anyone have it backed up...
