The Part# QAU0526-001 also known as KS-UBT1 is a Bluetooth 2.0 adapter with the Cambridge Silicon Radio chipset. I am not sure if a generic BT module with the same chipset would work as this one may have specific hardware/software ID's that are recognized by the head unit. I'd be curious to know...
