    Water + Amps = ?

I was gonna say, should be just fine. Some people wash circuit boards in the dishwasher. As long as there was no power going to them just dry them out and power them bad boys on, should be good.

    Amp turn on wire whine

Can you eliminate the noise by disconnecting a particular pair of RCAs?

    Amp turn on wire whine

Are you feeding the RCAs into the sub amp input then from the sub amp output to the highs? If the whine is on the highs only when the sub amp is connected then the sub amp is where it is coming from (could still be wiring to that amp, but the cause is AT THAT AMP). The routing of the RCAs...

Do I need a HO alt and/or a second battery?

Same here, I'm running an MTX1501D at 1ohm on 2 WalMart batteries in a Geo Metro which has about 45AMP alternator. I really don't play it blasting for more than a minute or two at a time and it does fine. The extra battery brings a lot of the amperage to the rear of the vehicle which is great...

    2nd Battery saftey measures

A fuse within 1 foot of each + wire coming off of both batteries. You know those cars you sometimes see burned up on the side of the road or at your pick-n-pull? Haha... yeah. So: Front BAT+---Fuse-------------------Fuse---BAT+---Fuse------AMP

    Amp turn on wire whine

The remote wire with the engine off is a steady 12.something volts. It WILL not cause whine, that is unless the HU is creating some noise on the REM wire. You could try disconnecting the REM wire crossing from the BAT+ terminal to REM to eliminate the REM wire as the problem. Only AC current...

    Amp turn on wire whine

Oh, I see, it said "subs" after it, thought that was a weird model number for a sub. Is that amp new? A whine weather the engine is on or off would be an internal problem in the amp or HU usually. Have you tried connecting the amp in another car? EDIT: Sounds like a problem with the HU...

You said your amp is in your sig?

Also, that amp will power on with 8ga wire, it's when you drive it hard that the wire guage matters.

    hifonics hfi2000d no sound

When my buddy got his 2000W hifonics, he accidentally hooked both + to one sub and both - to the other. Double check your speaker connections, sometimes they are layed out + - + - instead of + + - -.
