where to get PG Tantrum 1200.1's?

I have one with well under a month of use (took it and my sub out when I went on vacation...never put it back in). I'd be willing to let it go for $300 + shipping. Otherwise, ebay and the "For Sale" section of the various forums are your best bet

    pg tantrum 1200.1 not performing?

For the amp to receive a full voltage signal from that head unit, the sub out needs to be at +6... ...and the small hole in the divider will make absolutely no difference in "sound quality". BTW, with that head unit and its high voltage preouts, the gain shouln't need to be at the half way...

    Amp for 15'' Brahma

Aren't RF mono amps rated at 2 ohms? If so, it would give the Brahma 750ish wrms (wired to 4 ohms). Depending on what vehicle you have and what size/type enclosure you go with, that should be plenty of power.

    Alpine Type r 5.25" comps

No need to rewire...it will provide piece of mind, but nothing else. Those comps don't need any more than about 70 wrms per side.

How much power is too much?

I've been sending my Type R comps 80 watts/per for 2 years now. No problems whatsoever. Also, just because you have 110 wrms/per available doesn't mean you have to use all of it. Headroom, even a litte bit, is always good Of course, don't send that kind of power and high pass them at 50 hz...

    SPR-176A ... how are they?

I've had the Type R's for almost 2 years now. Very, very solid midbass. However, the XR mid is much smoother and graceful, especially in the 2k and up region. The Type R tweeter, as Jmac noted, is lacking. Terribly sibilant, unspectacular extension, and they don't "meet" the mid that well...like...

    my 15A review

In my particular setup, I found the kickdrums to be the 15A's strength. Powerful and accurate, without any of that "lingering" sound that often accompanies sloppy sub/sub setups. I like to use "Rx Queen" by the Deftones as a test. It starts out with a "kick drum solo" so to speak. Started and...
