check the fuse on the amp, and the fuse on your battery going to the amp. maybe it overheated & blew fuses if you were playing it loud for a long period of time.

The independance is the sub/speakers and they way they are wired that is your final load. depends what Ohm load your sub is and if it is wired in series or parallel.

you could get longer screws and mount the amp to the frame under the seat. you dont really need wood to mount it to first if the surface under the seat is flat enough. self-tapping metal screws should work fine to hold it down.

The best thing to use to attach a cone or dustcap back to a sub is Rubber weather stripping glue. it's made to re-attach your weather stripping molding around your trunk or doors. you can buy it at pep boys or a similar auto store. it comes in a tube and is basically black rubber drying type...

The changer might be clipping. possible wear & tear or maybe some wires got burned up. check fuses, grounds or take you car to a pro shop and have them test it.
