Amp is going into protect mode. To much gain.

I recently received an L7 15". This isn't the first one I had, but last one I had was powered by a Rockford Fosgate 601s amp, at a 2 ohm load. Pushed it nice, but want better. The idea of a Kx1200x1(kicker) at a 1 ohm load, or Bd1001(RF) at 2 ohm both sound nice. Any other recomendations would...
